I am building a new house with an atmos 9..1.6 setup. The highs will be polks rc80i. I am thinking a 6 channel 6-0 gen3 X amp. Or should I rethink the highs and go with a basx 7?
the surrround will be on a gen3 x 6-0 amp.

The XPA-6 is a much better amp than the A-700, but for height speakers it would be almost impossible to actually hear any difference. The only reason the get the XPA-6 is if you wanted some flexibility in the future to use that amp in a different setup.

I agree with David and would also opt for the XPA, if only to have balanced connections.
