Hi all, Just got my T-zero speakers this afternoon, which I’ve been eagerly awaiting! I ordered the refurbished T-zeros directly from Emotiva (although the label on the speaker says it’s the + version…can’t tell if there is any difference).
Anyway I started playing some test tracks and noticed that they sounded a little thin overall. I then noticed it seemed like the balance was off. I panned from left to right and noticed the mids/bass were much quieter in the right speaker. I swapped the cables to rule out the mixing of the track and the amps (monoblock upa-1). The same speaker had the lower volume. After closer testing it seems like the bottom woofer is barely working on that speaker. A few minutes later the amp powering that speaker went into protect mode. The wires are clean with no loose strands or anything to short out.
Assuming that I will have to warranty this, how does Emotiva usually handle this. Will I have to ship both speakers back, just one, or will they just ship out a woofer or crossover? Really hoping they can just cross ship one speaker something.
Anyone else had an issue like this with the airmotives?

I'm not sure helios. But, you can try with different speaker cables and RCA cables. Something that can cause the sound to be much quieter is that you have the phase mixed up. I noticed you said you swapped the cables, but I wanted to clarify that the cable swap was for just one speaker. Swap the wires on only one speaker.
I'm guessing you will be shipping back the entire set of speakers but I have no real idea.

Thanks for the reply. I talked to Emotiva this morning and they instructed me to remove the crossover and the bottom woofer. Sure enough one of the wires on the bottom woofer was disconnected. Glad It was something so simple and didn’t require shipping them anywhere.
I would normally check things like that myself, but with them being brand new, didn’t know if that would somehow void the warranty. Glad Emotiva allows their customers to do some simple things like that.

I hate to muck around the speaker insides and take out the woofers and stuff though I have done it before. I hope you are enjoying your sound!!
