Hi everyone! I decided I'd try to tackle my HDMI Switching issues again today and found something even stranger that the previous problem.
When I first got the XMC-1 (ref), HDMI worked fine with everything except AppleTV 4k. Switching from it to something else and back resulted in a black screen about 50% of the time. A hard restart would fix this. Then, the HDMI connection between the XMC-1 and the ATV4K stopped working all together. I tried different inputs, different cables, turning on and off HDR, restarts, etc. The 4K works fine thru a Denon receiver I have and direct through a TV.
Then I swapped in another 4K from another room, which was one generation older than the one mentioned above. HDR was switched off. It works! If I switch on HDR, the 4K says HDR is not possible. The cable is a 6' 8K certified cable.
I then switched to one of my analog sources and let it play for a bit, switched back to the 4K and Picture but no sound! Switched to another HDMI input and then back and it returned.
Maybe Apple has made an update that the XMC-1 doesn't like?
No matter. I'm just glad to have me OSD back. I'll put up with the older 4K.

So just to clarify, the TV4KG2 (2021) is giving you problems, but the TV4KG1 (2017) works ok? I only used a G1 when I had my XMC-1v3, and had no problems with SDR, HDR, & DV. I have no problems now with either the G1 or G2 and the RMC-1, but that doesn't help. Are the G1 and G2 both on the same tvOS?

So any luck with this? I am really getting upset. I just set up my brand new RMC-L and my new ATV 4K HDR and I can’t get it to work. This is a HUGE problem for me.

I switched to the 2nd HDMI output and that seemed to solve my HDMI issues.

I have both Gen 1 (60) and Gen 2 (120) Apple TV 4K’s and they have been the most stable impute on the XMC-1, never had an issue.
Until, I updated to a Samsung QLED TV with the external box and fibre optic link, since then none of the source devices work.
