When mounting in an equipment rack using rack ears, can one stack multiple BasX amps together with no space in between, or does Emotiva recommend leaving space above or below each BasX amp open for ventilation? (I did not see any guidance in the manual.)

For the BAS-X amplifiers or any amplifier I would follow the 1 to 2 RU spacing to allow for ventilation as the BAS-X like any amplifier produces heat.

Always allow heat an escape path. Enjoy!

MORE space is always better........ALWAYS.
Caps in PS are probably 86c rated.....this sets an upper temp for the PS.
Semiconductors work best at more ......reasonable......temps......
I can't remember the rule, but higher temps LOWER lifetime of such devices.....
I'd add that you generally do NOT want to blow air 'in' since there is no place for it to go.
Allow for naturall convection and create a path OUT with added suction blowing OUT......
Be ready to do regular DUSTING of the interior
don't forget? ABOUT 1/2 of the power used will turn into heat IN THE AMP......Most of the rest?
Into heat IN THE SPEAKER, which might be 5% efficient at best....

How do you do that dusting of the interior?

How do you do that dusting of the interior? With a tiny feather duster made from Hummingbird feathers. Sorry, just had to. Canned air, quick, short bursts.

I just purchased the BasX A3 and BasX A4. I am not rack mounting them, but can I stack one on the other? Would the feet provide adequate spacing between the amps for heat dissipation? The spot is fairly open to 3 sides. Thanks.
