Hey folks, Has anyone compared these two speakers? I’ve read good reviews about both of these but can’t audition any of them before purchasing. I was leaning towards the Ultra mostly because of the dual (and bigger) mid-bass because I listen to a lot of vocal jazz but it’s also not easy to justify more than twice the price of the T2+. Any help would be appreciated. I know this is an Emotiva forum so please be objective. Thank you

It's been awhile since I listened to both, so my memory may be a bit foggy at this point, but I'll give you my impressions.
SVS Ultra - Big sound. Lots of bass. Great for Home Theater. I didn't care for the sound as much for two channel. Their Prime Pinnacle speakers were better in my view (with subwoofer) for both Home Theater and Stereo. The piano black for either looks really nice, IMO.
T2+ - Excellent, all-around sounding speakers. Tight bass, great mid-range and highs. I would still add a sub especially for movies. I like these speakers. Some don't like the way they look, but that's personal preference. I wish they came in another finish, or two. Great value.
If it was me, It would be a toss-up between the Prime Pinnacles and the T2+. I think you would be happy with either one.
Seek out on-line reviews on both speakers. Make a list of what you like and dislike about both. Compare the lists against each other which should help with the decision making. Either manufacturer will give you an audition and return period. I know that can be a pain though.

Interesting to hear that the Primes are better than the Ultras for music (which is my main use) as they are considered the lower quality line. I’d be also interested in hearing some feedback on the Polk S60 or Reserve 700 as a companion to the T2+ but might start a new thread for that.

Yeah...if you look at reviews of the Ultras in comparison to the Prime Pinnacles, you will notice that many reviewers mention that the Pinnacles surpass the Ultras, except for the bass response. They are a newer speaker design after all. I noticed the same thing when listening to them. The Ultras are also less forgiving with room placement, if that's a factor. They may be the lower line, but definitely not lower quality.
