Just wanted to say hello to everybody on the forum. I am new to the board but have been an owner of Emotiva equipment since 2019, I thought it'd be a good time to finally post something to introduce myself.
I have been interested in this hobby since I was a young boy. I've assembled and disassembled my parents' hi-fi system many times to clean, sat by their tape deck with my finger on the pause button, waiting for my favorite song to come on the radio, so I could record it on cassette to make a mix tape to play in the car. I've always been intrigued by great sounding and great looking components, new speaker technologies and recording media.
I've owned many mainstream brands over the years but my initial foray into audiophile-grade systems started in 1999 when I bought my first Magnepan speaker, the MMGs after graduating college. After twenty years of owning that, I decided it was time to upgrade to a larger Maggie. Sometime in late 2019, I came upon Emotiva's line of power amplifiers after an online reviewer posted pictures of his system with bright blue LED lights that I've never seen before on any power amp. More research followed and I finally found the brand name and website. What really impressed me initially was the value-for-the-money, I didn't have to raid my savings/retirement funds to be able to afford their products!
So I bought my first Emotiva product, the XPA-2 Gen 3 and the PT-100 to drive my new Magnepan 3.7i. Since then, I've also purchased a refurb'ed, XMC-1 and the BasX A-7. Now looking to upgrade my XPA to two HC-1's.
Some pictures. They have been resized so each are no more than 250KB.
These are the Emotiva equipment that I own at present. BasX PT-100, XPA-2 Gen3, XMC-1, BasX A-7.
My living room and listening space. I don't like to display my stereo equipment so I have them hidden behind doors in the music bench. The doors are perforated so remote controls will function with doors closed.
Thanks for reading.
