I have a tricky situation in my living room which isn't the best for having home theater. That being said, I just added the XPA-3 Gen3 to my Yamaha RX-A6A and used Emobucks from that purchase to get the A1's for $49. I'd like to use them to complete a 7.1.4 (currently 7.1.2) speaker setup. The best would be to mount the A1's on the ceiling angled down to the listening area. That's because I have a large bay window with only 8" from top to ceiling which isn't enough height to mount on the wall. I cannot not find any information on if there are instructions to mounting A1's on the ceiling without trying to jury rig it myself. Attached is a diagram of my current setup where I currently do not have rear presence speakers. Any help in either mounting the A1's to the ceiling or any other ideas would be appreciated.

Another forum member has posted about the same issue with the same speakers. You might peruse the info in that thread as well. Atmos SpeaksI looked in the manual and there isn't anything about mounting on the ceiling. I posted what I did with my ATMOS speakers, which are wall mountable speakers, but I attached them to the ceiling.

I have a question as to the distance setup when these are used in the reflection mode.
Would you measure the direct distance or would the distance be the total of the reflected distance?

I have a question as to the distance setup when these are used in the reflection mode. Would you measure the direct distance or would the distance be the total of the reflected distance? I would measure the total path of the sound from the speaker. If there is doubt as to the exactness, I would shorten the distance a little so the sound doesn't arrive "too soon", as distance is really a delay setting. You can use a mirror and a friend to aid in determining the bounce point on the ceiling. Just look for the speaker in the mirror from the MLP.
