Finally bought myself a turntable to listen to my old LPs. I haven't played them since I moved out at 19, and never got around to buying a turntable for myself until now. I don't have a large LP collection as I started getting into music just as CDs started becoming popular in the mid 80's. So it was never a priority and my CDs far outnumbered my LP collection. I read a few reviews on this turntable and decided it was a decent price for its quality and performance. I admit I was a little biased as I wanted something in red. There are a few small upgrades for it coming in today as well.

Ahhh now I see why wire housekeeping was on your mind (getting ready) I caught something else in the picture that put a smile on my face (the OSD) behind the turntable showing David Helpling and Jon Jenkins corroborating. I actually corresponded with Helpling a few years back via email. A great departure for me is their music after growing so weary of what’s been around over the last few decades!

I have amplifiers coming in as well. The last two weeks have been very hard on my wallet! David Helpling and Jon Jenkins are an excellent musical team. They have released individual albums that are wonderful too but not as good as them collaborating. I may have everything they've ever done together in CD. This is the musical genre that I'm partial to. It's surprising to find someone who has actually heard of them as it is quite a niche genre, is it not?

I have to say my favorite album is definitely, 'Found', which is a more recent release. I believe after all those years of collaboration, their sound has matured and the quality of the studio mix is outstanding on it.

That is actually a very old piece of tech from the early 2000s. It's a Rokulabs Soundbridge M2000 mp3 streamer. I host my music in an iTunes server in another room (Mac Mini) which streams music to this. I have an optical out to my amp. Here is a review of it. I love the Fluorescent Display on it. www.digitaltrends.com/media-streamer-reviews/roku-soundbridge-m2000-review/

Sorry to bother you again....I just bought the Roku Soundbridge M1000 used off Ebay and I have two questions if you don't mind. First, what network or stream service are you using as a source? Second, do you have a recent firmware update file? Roku took the firmware update down and I have searched and found nothing. Any random advice would help too! Thank you Of course, not a problem! First answer: I run my own streaming service internally. I have an internal home network for file transfers and music streaming. I use iTunes as a music server because I get to see the cool spectrum analyzer display on the M2000’s VFD. But you can use Slimserver as well but you will have to forgo the Spectrum Analyzer. I also have Slimserver running on my network file server to stream music to my Logitech Transporter. Second answer: Unfortunately, I don’t have a firmware update file. I honestly cannot remember when I updated the firmware on it. It used to do it on its own. The Soundbridge used to stream internet radio stations but they have stopped working a few years ago. I haven't looked into this more but there might be work arounds. This device is mainly used to stream your own collection of music that you've converted into mp3. Another advantage is not needing to turn a TV on to launch a streaming client since it already has a built in display which you can use to navigate the menus. Another plus is centralizing your media files in one location and using this to access them from different parts of the home. It used to be, if you wanted music in a room you had to have a computer nearby. One computer in every room with a large harddrive with your music files, noisy fans, keyboard and mouse. However, in this day and age, with bluetooth amps and smart phones, this is no longer the case. But I think it's still cool to see the spectrum analyzer dancing around while the music plays.

In case you were curious to see what my media streaming setup looks like in my home 'server room'. I forgot to add SlimServer as another service running on the MacMini to stream music.

I ordered a Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 and it will be delivered today. The built-in phono amp stage in my pre-amp isn't adequate because it doesn't have enough gain for my taste. Can't wait for it to arrive and take it for a spin around the block this evening. Also with the upgraded metal sub-platter and acrylic platter, the VTA was off until I added a shim/spacer under the tone arm assembly. So much to do, so little money/time...
