I recently purchased multi channel basx amp but will not use all the channels until I complete my purchase of speakers. Can I leave unused channels floating? No input and no output connections? I am an old CMOS chip designer and leaving inputs floating was never allowed. Looking for some advice. Thanks!!
Really appreciate Emotiva and the support!!

Most SS amplifiers are OK with the outputs floating (open). Personally I would make (or buy) shorting plugs for the input just to be sure some sort of coupled noise or static does not cause something strange to happen.
Do NOT leave tube amplifier outputs floating! That will usually result in a destroyed amplifier (the output transformer will die, probably taking the output tubes and perhaps other components with it).

Thanks to all for the feedback. I also got confirmation from Emotiva support that it is fine to run the amp with unused channels. Really like this "lounge" .... a lot of great information. Cheers!

If you are still not comforted, just switch the amps used every couple of months? You want to make sure they are all working while in warranty anyway.

Unused channels??? What is this heresy of which you speak? Sounds like you need to add more speakers. LOL
