So my XPA-2 is starting to have an issue the is random where it makes a popping noise and cuts out and has no output like it has gone into protect. After a few minutes it comes back or I have to power cycle it. At normal listening levels. Anyone have a similar problem?

This is a technical problem.....And for which you need technical HELP. Unless you are a qualified tech, that is.
Could be many things from a bad ouput device to a simple cold solder which is 'intermittent. Any corolation with HEAT of the unit...which I'll presume to be well cooled and not in a 'oven' of a cabinet?......
Still supported by EMO? Can you get a schematic for YOUR tech? Do you even HAVE a local tech who will work on this? Can you SMELL anything while Nose-To-Amp?
I'd start by removing amp TO a nice table top. Let it sit an hour or more. Open up the cab and LOOK for a problem. Bulging caps? Burned components on-board? Clean OUT if extremely dusty....
Than plug in and turn ON. Let it sit while 'waiting' for problem. DO NOT STICK YOUR PAWS INSIDE. Those big PS caps and more.....can administer a Nasty shock. And if even a minute current crosses
your HEART, it can be fatal.
