Hi all,
I've been running a UMC-1 happily for years and when I found a second hand MC-700 being sold for $325 AUS I jumped at it.
I'm having a hard time getting the unit setup. I first tried using our Amazon Firestick as a HDMI bsource, connecting it to HDMI port 1 and then 4. However, not matter what I tried I couldn't get any audio. The picture passed through to my TV just fine.
Last night I focused on getting audio from the TV via the S/PDIF (toslink) input. At first there was no audio, but when I changed the menu option HDMI CEC to 'ON' it finally worked, albeit very low volume. When I fired up the Amazon Firestick which was plugged into the TV (HDMI), the audio dropped out, with there being an occasional high pitched noise from the speakers as I navigated the Amazon GUI. I turned the MC-700 off and on and switched back to commercial television, but I no longer could get any audio output via the MC-700.
What worries me most is that when I run a simple tone test there is no output from the speakers (LF and RF for now).
I also tried reloading the latest firmware and loading the defaults via the menu before recalibrating.
Is it possible my issues are related to the quality of the Firestick HDMI cable and toslink cable?
Any help would be appreciated.

My best suggestion would be to try another source, plug a phone in, anything will do, the simpler the better.
Cheers Gary

Thanks for the suggestion Gary. Unfortunately I don’t have the optional Bluetooth module in order to pair my phone. Something I’d like to get if I can get the unit setup.
The unit picks up the input sources. For instance I played a movie via the Firestick last night and it recognised the Dolby Digital Plus input -just nothing going to the speakers.
BTW I’m in Adelaide and also run a pair of Summoners by Edward.

I've tried setting up the MC-700 on 4 different occasions, each time connecting all the cables and loading defaults before setting up inputs / speakers etc.
I bought a new 4K Amazon Firestick which I needed anyway. The processor immediately detects the incoming DTS plus, but nothing is going out to the speakers.
Plugged it into the UMC-1 and everything works as expected.
