Hi all, please read the whole thing... So I moved back to New York 3 months ago, from Cleveland, the moving company just delivered my stuff last Sunday, the 43 inch tv is beyond repair, the bluray player is damaged, the 400 cd changer is damaged, so is the bookshelf and some speaker stands, I already filed the claim...the Denon 4520ci receiver looks just as it did before, I set up the whole thing, everything was perfect until today, I had the triggers set up to any input for stereo would turn on just the XPA200 and any input for surround would turn on the XPA7 and the two A-150s, I pressed the input for the Emotiva bluetooth receiver, the XPA200 turned on as always, but a few seconds later it started turning on and off like crazy, I heard crackling noise from the receiver, I unplugged the whole system, tried it again, and the same thing happened, so I unplugged the triggers cables, no more crackling noise, I'm turning on the amps manually, but the sound took a few minutes to come on, my question is what the hell was that about?

sorry for your woes. hope things progress in your favor, as they should, for replacements.
As to the triggers, I would suspect the trigger circuitry in the receiver since it was "crackling". Sounds like the truck was a vibrator to all the electronics. Cracked solder joints are a possibility.

Sounds like the AVR's trigger output may have gone bad, or the XPA200's trigger input, or you have a bad trigger cable. I would try another trigger cable first as that is the easy fix. Make sure the cables are seated completed (fully pushed in). Start with just the original cable and measure the voltage at the end to see if it is stable with no load, then repeat with a new cable. If that does not do it, you may have to file a claim for the AVR and/or amp as well. Do the other amps work OK, so it is just one XPA200 that has this problem?
I do have a vague memory of a guy taking out his Denon's trigger by driving a fan or relay that generated enough voltage to fry the Denon's trigger output (look up "snubber circuit"), and another that overloaded the trigger output (they typically only drive 50~100 mA). You may want to invest in the little ET-3 trigger repeater from Emotiva (https://emotiva.com/products/et-3), or roll your own (I have done both for my system). High output current and cheaper than an AVR.

The truck idea is a possibility, but I also suspect people mishandling the equipment during the moving, what's strange is that when I hooked up everything to the receiver it was working fine until today.

HTH - Don When I pressed the input for bluray all 3 amps turned on just fine, no noise from the receiver, the trigger cable for the XPA200 is the thickest one and I always make sure everything is fully inserted, should I try it again with the same cable or just leave it alone for now, I unplugged all the triggers cables just to be safe.

HTH - Don Well, well, well, I replaced the trigger cable with one that came with one of the A-150 amps, I turned on the receiver, the XPA200 came on, no crackling noise, no issues at all, so it was a bad cable, I'm crossing my fingers, lol...

Oh crap!!! It just happened again!!! I unplugged the cable, turned on the XPA200 manually, working perfectly....so what the hell is going on? It was great for at least 5 hours...

May be a bad jack or connection in the amp. Can you (or have you already) tried a different source jack on the AVR for this amp? If it is a bad solder joint or bad jack it should be an easy fix.

Is the amp in warranty?

I don't think it's the amp, I disabled the triggers in the receiver, turned the amp on manually, a few minutes later the sound came back, but before that I heard a little bit of crackling noise from the receiver, it's been working good for hours now, no problem, but that's what I thought this morning until the receiver started with the noise...I will try turning the XPA200 off and turn on the XPA7 on to see if it happens again...

I don't think it's the amp, I noticed when using the Emotiva BTR1 and turned on the cassette player on the sound stopped even without switching inputs, it's been frustrating...

So after connecting the bluray player, cd player and the Roku, the receiver is not stopping the sound anymore, was the receiver sensing something was missing? Just curious, I have not turned the triggers back on yet, any thoughts?
