I'm getting tired of Roku Ultra and thinking NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV Pro 4K HDR Streamer. Plan is to stream video and music. Would like to output music (stream & music server) via USB to either XMC-1 or Cambridge CXA integrated. Is it worth the upgrade? Can it be customized? I once had a Kodi build that was music centric with nice addons that was as nice as a commercial network player, worked great. SSD died and lost weeks of work. Not sure I want to do that again. My HTPC is customized Linux Mint with apps and wife won't use it.
Thx

I love my Shield Pro, the new remote is wayyyy better than the old one, I us mine for Netflix, Disney, Prime and Plex and some youtube as well, it's easy and works and my wife and kids can use it haha, not cheap but IMO for my use totally worth it.

Mine just works and updates well and never makes me think about it as I just use it.

The only issue is Netflix refresh rate doesn't change to native rate for what you are watching without installing a third party app. That is easy, if irritating, to install the workaround.
Kodi is perfect for video (and all of the associated audio formats) via HDMI to the G3P but I hated using it for audio.
JRiver on my HTPC is still my go-to for usability and quality is as good as things can be as long as you don't mind DSD to 176kHz PCM through HDMI to the G3P
JRiver for Android is rudimentary. Any better JRiver equivalents for audio?

It WORKS great with XMC & like it so far, regret not getting one earlier. I'm currently using the Roku ultra mainly because its rock solid and easy for my wife to use. Is the NVIDIA proving to be equally easy and stable? Anything in particular that you like about it over Roku?

I wasn't able to view the XMC menu on it's best day. Tonight will be the first full night with it. So far no sync issues or crashes.

Emotive still has HDMI sync issues. The only source that will pass is Sony X800 Bluray to Sony TV and even that is finicky.
