I tried to check the Lounge today and received an error message that my IP address was blocked. After fooling around a while I discovered a Norton update had automatically enabled a VPN service. It seems OK on all the other sites I visit, but I had to turn it off to reach the Lounge. I don't visit here that much (and probably less so now), but is this expected behavior? Guessing they are worried about spammers...
Curious - Don

It was not a Norton message, it said the Emotiva site had blocked my IP address. When I disabled the VPN I was able to access the site. Strange... I am an analog guy, networks are my bane. Hopefully a temporary glitch.

I do all my browsing everywhere through firefox + foxyproxy connected via ssh to an Amazon cloud server, not a true VPN in the strictest sense but yes everyonce in a while a site will block my IP because probably at one point the IP belonged to a different Amazon client that was doing bad things and got themselves blocked. Or maybe they just blacklist entire amazon ip ranges.
FoxyProxy can be configured to whitelist certain domains, so if its a forum like Emotiva that is blocking my IP and I kind of want to visit, I just add an exception to foxy and refresh the page. If it's just some random page blocking me I send them a virtual high five and carry on to the next site, nothing of value lost.

Today it is working fine. Not sure what happened yesterday... Gives me something to read after digging out from ~10" of snow last night and today!
