This is likely not a processor issue but wanted to see if someone had a solution. I have an Intel NUC running Windows 10 as a HTPC attached to my XMC-2. The display (which shows up as the playback device in control panel) is an LG B6. On some platforms, streaming via the web (have tried both Chrome and Edge) the audio and video will get out of sync. Sync can come and go on the same program. I have seen it with two streaming sites (none of the big ones, that is all on Roku, no issues). Have tried everything I can find regarding Windows and browser issues. Any ideas?

You are probably using the built in windows Direct Sound as the default sound renderer.
May I suggest you download JRiver Media Center as a free one month trial (It comes with no tied-software or malware or bloatware and is 100% uninstallable) and enable Windows' WASAPI audio render instead of Direct Sound within Jriver. WASAPI is bit direct (Windows Audio Session API) and has none of the sample rate conversion or mixing of Direct Sound
Then, by enabling JRiver's WDM Driver as the windows sound device, you can still use the JRiver audio engine to output all PC audio (from Edge, Chrome, Apps) to HDMI or USB using the WDM Driver built into JRiver to divert audio to HDMI/USB via WASAPI
It takes a bit of configuring to setup JRiver Media Center but it certainly is audio (and video focussed) and is tried and tested and regularly updated. The paid purchase is also cheap, with a lifetime licence

If you have a Roku connected to the TV, what are you streaming from the HTPC? How is the HTPC connected to the TV, HDMI or are you casting from Chrome to the TV?

If you have a Roku connected to the TV, what are you streaming from the HTPC? How is the HTPC connected to the TV, HDMI or are you casting from Chrome to the TV? There are some web only services, for example Mandolin for live music. I don't have a lot of content in this category but when I do the sync issue is annoying. HTPC is connected via HDMI.

I thought Mandolin had iOS and Android apps? Have you tried casting from your phone / tablet or using a browser on the Roku? Are you feeding the HDMI signal from the HTPC into the TV or XMC-2?

Mandolin does have an Android app it appears. Casting would require that the Mandolin app supports casting. That and a Roku browser seem like a cumbersome workaround, but could be a future possibility. I am using HDMI to the XMC-2. The playback device shows up on Windows as the TV, Emotiva support says this is working as expected. The JRiver application previously mentioned passed its first test, but since the issue is intermittent, will take awhile to really tell if it was a fix. I should note that this is a relatively new issue, never had it before (many years of use), I suspect something in a Windows update caused it.
