Have not changed my TV since 2004. Need to catch up in a hurry as its already shipped.
What HDMI connections PLUG directly into the TV nowadays? Thanks! Any advice and suggestions welcomed! ROKU? FIOS TV? Anthem mrx 1120? XBOX 360 & PS3

Just set up my new XMC-2 except for (e)ARC. Not sure how to do that. Might help Soup to know too. Tnx.

FIOS TV? Anthem mrx 1120? XBOX 360 & PS3 Of the devices you listed, none of them "need" to be plugged directly into the HDMI ports of your G1. Your Anthem should support those devices nicely. If you ever upgrade to a newer Xbox X Series or the new Playstation where "real" HDMI 2.1 functionality will be needed, those can either be plugged into the G1 and HDMI-ARC used to feed the audio back to your receiver, or, you can invest in an HDfury VRRoom and use that as your primary HDMI 2.1 switch.

Sound thru anthem mrx 1120...
So what is hooked up directly to the TV? Only the anthem? Is that what is recommended? Thanks for the comments....work in progress

Soup, due to HDMI issues, I toslink out TV to XMC-1, but it's not ideal. We're limited to only 7.1 compressed signal and 24/96k. Some Toslink cables can increase the bandwidth... so they say. If you are using Atmos, you need to go eARC for best signal quality- Source>MRX>TV.
