Bought a PT2 and never opened it because I saw what was in inside online and thought to my self this can never be repaired if anything went wrong. Just a bunch of Chinese Junk. I have owned Emotiva equipment from the old XPA-1's and varies other pieces and now it's all Junk for someone who can't afford decent equipment. I'll stay with my 1970" HK Citation which I can have worked on locally that sounds much better and their customer service stinks. It took me 3 weeks to get a response back and still haven't gotten my refund on an unopened preamp. I have 2 Citation Deluxe's, Citation 11, 17, 16 and a 17s which blows this out of the water.

Yeah, you'd be better off using the DACs, Bluetooth and bass management in the HK's for sure.

How do you know that the Citation sounds better if you never opened the PT2?

I've got to chime in here... Most people buy audio equipment for what it does... and especially how it sounds... and not because it offers an impressive collection of parts. And, no, compared to vintage gear, modern electronic circuitry has definitely tended in the direction of being smaller and less impressive to look at. But it also tends to offer more features, and better performance, at lower cost. (We did design the PT2 to be listened to.) I'm also a bit confused about how you could say that something else "blows the PT2 out of the water"... when you didn't actually listen to the PT2. From the feedback we've received, most people who've actually listened to a PT2 seem to think that they perform quite well, and sound quite nice. I owned a Harman Kardon Citation 12 amp - a very long time ago. It was a nice simple basic design - and it worked pretty well - and sounded good. But, nostalgia aside, it did end up being replaced by a Marantz... which sounded better... and had pretty blue meters... and a real walnut veneer cabinet. (The one thing that I personally miss the most about vintage gear is the nice wood cabinets that were often available.) But that Marantz ended up being replaced by a Sunfire... and then a Hafler... and then an Aragon... Until I finally got off the amplifier roundabout... I will apologize that it's taken so long to process your refund. (That's not my department... but I've been told that we have made a few changes to streamline that process a bit.)
