here is a very revealing video. this man spent thousands on power cords and settled on the 10$ version. Give this a look at a good head shake! www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iZ97bS3X5Q

"is this (the expensive power cords) going to make the presentation better? Yes, it is going to make the presentation better"
"I'm willing to sacrifice some performance in order to put some money back in the bank".
So he admits that some of the expensive cables sound at least slightly better than the "stock" style. Everything in life is a decision.

#405.....Please see the post immediately above yours. Video guy admited to differences in sound. But were they worth THOUSANDS of dollars? I doubt it. The difference in cost between what the video guy spent on ALL THOSE CORDS and what he ended up with would get you and your significant other a Nice holiday in Vegas..... www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIyixC9NsLIThis one is better!

What you wouldn't want to hold back 2.50 a foot romex behind the wall would you? Leading back to that 15 amp breaker that is a Square D at Home Depot for 5.70 each? Yeah plug in that $1000.00 power cable. I don't need a video to see the false economy on that AC power cable. Been around custom home installation long enough and seen enough homes in the framing stage. Yeah stock is fine.

Romex extenders are NOT power cords….actually there IS no such thing as a “power cord”

I've never seen shielded romex. Before anyone spends $xxx on a power cord, maybe install a dedicated breaker, isolated supply line that does run next to the AC compressor line... just sayin.

I've never seen shielded romex. Before anyone spends $xxx on a power cord, maybe install a dedicated breaker, isolated supply line that does run next to the AC compressor line... just sayin. Most DIY and many engineering types recommend that IF you use a shielded cable, such shield is connected at the FEED end. any noise picked up by this shield goes that way. As for housetech's post. YOU BET. the Devil IS in the Details. Even if each individual change is only a couple percent to the 'better', it doesn't necessarily ADD, but maybe MULTIPLY..... The 2 Beldin cables I noted? Both are shielded. But for 90% of us? the 14ga at maybe 5$ or 6$ a foot is by far the MOST useful..... Once again? Group buy CAN be helpful if that seems a little brisk (it's not)
