How often do our expectations not just get met but exceeded? Well, the A4 did it for me, in a big way. Reading reviews I did not expect such a balanced presentation. For one thing, I expected a thinner top end with the slightest shade of brightness. Nothing like that showed up in my rig. What I saw was a presentation as neutral as neutral can be.
My rig is pretty balanced and resolving and the A4 did not in the least dampen its spirit. I got an A4 because I'm sold on bi-amping and I needed 4-channels to do it. For anyone that does bi-amping, you know that the cables and the amps must be identical. The A4, along with 2 pairs of Blue Jeans White 10-gauge speaker cables, do the bi-amping job admirably. The A4 is a great value. So are the BJ cables at $180. To get outstanding sound performance for about $750 (amp and cables) is more value than I ever thought was possible.
I now have full-range sound, a soundscape as wide, deep, and tall as you'll ever hear, instrument separation and a holographic presentation that makes it seem as though each instrument or group of instruments float in the same airspace, tonal accuracy that makes you wonder if the musicians and singers are in your listening space, and a sense of musicality and realism that is the very definition of high fidelity.
The BasX A4 makes me a happy camper.

“For one thing, I expected a thinner top end with the slightest shade of brightness.” Why?
