Anybody out there own a pair of these?
If so ? Have they the original surround
on the woofers?
Or , you've had the upgrades.
My question, how is the bass?
They're 84 db at 1w at1 met.
I just had mine redone. Got the bells and whistles , new cone, surround,and the circuit that's supposed to do something.
I swear they just ain't rite.
The units look great nice job. But
I'm thinking the surround is too stiff.
I'll b back here in a while.
I've owned these since 79.
Tech hifi deal.
Only components left from that set of up.
I fixed the surrounds twice, second time not so good, used flex seal to form surround witch worked well for mabe a yr.
So... I bite the bullet and went for the " factory " fix.

There may be the answer- you're use to well-worn in surrounds being replaced with more stiff new ones.

"circuit that's supposed to do something" guessing the crossover was modified and will make a difference.
So, you have introduced 2 variables and it will be difficult to determine which is give you an unwanted effect until the surrounds loosen. General 100 hours for new surrounds. DavidR would know better than I on that issue. You're in a 'wait and see' position.

You could be right about the old compared to new.
So I'm still working them in.
We shall see said the blind man.
After a couple days now on AMBIANT BASS stuff their warming up.

The circuit is a factory up grade added to the driver. Org crossovers still in cab . The surround,s were repaired by me a couple times in the past. The last time they needed help I used flex seal.
It worked well with what was left but a couple places were iffy. So I got the fixed .

OK GUYS!! Here's an update!
Break in time is what was needed.
Been playing mostly cello stuff
Couple days no along with AMBIANT bas .
Today total difference in the sound. Nice floor vibrating deep bass. Not loud minded u but enuf to hear in the room., They probably won't compete with the more spenziv stuff you,all got but thankx for all your input on this matter.
