Does Emotiva sell the individual modules for the XPA Gen 3 amps? I don't see them anywhere on their site.
I bought a 3 channel amp which has four empty slots and now need 2 extra channels for a turntable. I know..hindsight and all that. Thanks!

Emotiva does not sell the amplifier blades for "self-install". To add or change blades, you must contact Emotiva and arrange for an upgrade. You'll have to ship it to them, but the turnaround is quick and fairly painless. I've personally done this with my own Gen 3 amp (XPA-5 > XPA-9 upgrade) and the total turnaround, including transit time, was about 10 days. If you're overseas, I'm sure the arrangement is different. But in either case, you'll need to contact Emotiva to obtain the details. Hope this helps...

Why do you need more channels for a turntable? Wouldn't this just need a stereo amp and connect to a new input (phono) on your pre-amp.

Why do you need more channels for a turntable? I have an RMC-1L and phono through that is pretty miserable. So I'm thinking of getting an Emo BasX PT1 and using an A/B switch for speakers.
I have an older XPA-5 driving my sides and surrounds (one channel unused) and bought the 3 channel amp for the 3 mains.
I suppose I could bump up the PT1 to the model with onboard amp.. That's depending on the cost of adding 2 more channels to the XPA-3.

You don’t mention having a phono preamp with your RMC-1L, it doesn’t have one built in, so how are you hooking up a turntable? I use Emotiva’s XPS-1 phono preamp with the RMC-1 and think my turntable sounds pretty good. Perhaps you should to explain the current setup that sounds bad, before considering more channels.

Oh yes, sorry. I have a Vincent Pho 701 phono preamp. I was running it through an older Onkyo RZ-800 and it sounded great. The RMC-1L is incredible for movies but not so much for 2 channel.

Ok, not an opinion I share, but you think the PT-1 would be better?

I try not to disagree with customers but the RMC-1 is actually quite accurate and uncolored with analog inputs. I'm inclined to wonder if your Vincent phono preamp, or your cartridge, simply has some sort of coloration that worked will with the Onkyo. It's quite possible that the phono preamp in the PT1 is better than the Vincent... But the line level analog inputs on the PT1 are not going to sound better than the analog inputs on the RMC-1. (And, if you prefer, you can always disable room correction and such on the RMC-1 when you use the turntable.) And our separate XPS-1 phono preamp is significantly better than the phono preamp in the PT1 (and it costs less). I may have to give the RMC another chance. I'm using a Music Hall 7.1 MM TT with an Ortofon 2M Bronze cart. I would think that should sound pretty great through anything.
Maybe it's time to take a step back and just listen for awhile, and stop complicating things. Thanks for all the advice!
