Trying to sort this but beating my head on it. I have now reduced to just the FM tuner, yes the antenna is plugged in, and the display shows me it’s tuned to the local 91.5 fm station and the KOPB call sign is even showing, so it is receiving the station. I have unplugged all cables form the back. Hdmi, XLR’s to the XPA amps, triggers. There is literally nothing plugged in except power and the fm antenna. I plugged headphones in and still zero sound. I toggles mute, changed stereo modes, direct, etc. zero sound.
I did this massive reduction in variables to get to a sources of problem, and at even the most minimal setup I still have zero sound. I take headphones out and plug just one XLR in for center channel, nothing out of amp.
Am I missing something? This thing is brand new and fresh out of box two weeks ago. Just getting setup and nada.
Also my left display on the RMC-1 is crooked. Not a good sign either….

Here is a pic of the crooked display, guessing this is not normal?

Well no clue why, but doing 3 hard power cycles and now I have sound. Also noted that when I was scrolling through the Inputs, the whole thing froze up before I had a chance to test sound before. Something went haywire with the software.
Started out working on FM in the headphones, and then started slowly plugging in amp channels and pulled headphones. Speakers now are putting out sound! Plugged in HDMI from cable box, got sound from there now. Then turned on TV, picture now on TV. But I can't seem to get HDMI/Arc working for sound back from TV when doing Netflix for example. Tv out was set to HDMI/Arc, input on Amp set to HDMI/Arc, nothing. Chore for tomorrow... might go back to optical cables.

Good work on the problem solving! Crooked display needs a phone call to Emotiva to find out if it's just a loose screw inside that allowed it to tilt, or if you need a new one. ARC can be iffy depending on the tv. Maybe one of the LG owners here can chime in on which tv settings work best. On the processor all you need is HDMI/CEC Enabled, nothing else is required. For ARC to get a "kickstart", you should unplug both the processor and tv for about five minutes, then start the processor and let it fully boot for a few minutes, then turn on the tv. Go to the Owner's thread for more info and help. emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/56879/rmc-owners-thread-post-firmware?page=380

I'm using an LG G1 with ARC and can only add that you must have eARC disabled on the LG. Other than that Simplink has to be on, the TV HDMI2 input has to be connected to HDMI2 output on the RMC, on the RMC make sure CEC is enabled (you may or may not want to further check the volume, input and power boxes in the CEC menu. You then might want to physically unplug the TV from the wall and turn off the RMC with the rear switch for a couple minutes then turn them back on. Select HDMI ARC on the RMC and try using one of the apps on the TV such as Prime, Netflix, Peacock, etc. You should then get sound through the RMC. Can you see what the firmware and HDMI versions are on the information screen? And I agree about a call Emotiva about that crooked screen.

Sounds like it could be from rough shipping, box might not show damaged if it was dropped flat but that can be very hard on whats inside, I'd say a replacement is in order, seems like it had a hard journey to your place ?

You said your RMC-1 is only two weeks old, so if my suspicions are correct, then that means you have an HDMI board that is "eARC" capable. You haven't said what firmware your RMC-1 is currently running. Go to: Setup--->Information and tell us what "Firmware Version" and "HDMI Version" your RMC-1 is currently on. According to the LG website, your OLED77GXPUA has an "eARC" capable "Input/Output" on HDMI 2. Depending on your RMC-1 firmware version, "eARC" may be enabled, if it's not the next public firmware version should make this available to you. ttocs and geebo , their posts above are very informative and you'll want to follow their advice if/once your RMC-1's firmware enables "eARC".

Hey all thanks for the feedback! I have sent the RMC-1 back, Emotiva has been really good about addressing it, and hope to have a new one back in a week or so. Meanwhile my system is ready and waiting! Need to still sort the eARC setup when its back, and spend some cycles programming the logitech universal remote, but all wiring is done, just waiting for the return of the RMC-1 and whenever some 4u rack rail kits get back in stock! Putting some pics over in the HT zone of my setup...
