I'm rebuilding my setup, and would like to put my three amplifiers and XMC-2 into a nice rack. I'd be grateful for any advice, especially about: - how to do it? - where to buy? - what to buy? - not ugly (it's in the room) - doesn't need front or back doors? - Big heavy wheels so I can get to the back to rewire ( or I can make a dolly for it) - compact as possible

My linear amps are very heavy: I may be better off without wheels, and set it on a custom dolly with heavy casters. I need to be able to pull it out and get to the cabling at the back.

Absolutely Sanus! I couldn’t see what I was purchasing but I did see a short rack from a distance. I purchased their biggest rack for what I thought was stupid money. I’m doing this once so just do it were my thoughts. I’m so unbelievably thrilled with my purchase. Overbuilt is such an understatement. Things I never would have thought of untill it came to mind . They thought this all the way through. What a great piece of gear at a reasonable price. Buy once cry once, but the crying won’t last very long. Buy one with more shelves then you think you need.

+1 for the Sanus. I've had the 27RU model for years now.

Any assembly advice? Like how much space should I have between amplifiers for cooling? etc...

Any assembly advice? Like how much space should I have between amplifiers for cooling? etc... You should leave at least one RU between the hotter running components. The Sanus rack pictured is closed on all four side with a glass door on the front so so additional cooling may be desirable. The Sanus has a place to install a 3RU rack fan in the top to pull air up from the bottom and out the top. I also have some ACInfinity 2RU rack fans installed that turn on when things get too warm but I think a good one in the top would suffice. And also keep the heavy stuff down low.
