Thank you Nick…you are very generous..I love the setup..the McIntosh and the Maggies (.7’s) are a sweet match. Now the low end is no comparison to the B&W803d2’s I have but I listen mostly to Jazz, Blues and classical..that said I am sitting here listening to SUPERTRAMP’s “Even in the Quietest Moment”..👍
Sometimes I’ll listen to an LP and after the first song Ill wonder why it doesn’t sound as good as it usually does. It wont be a huge difference but something is missing. I’ll look down and see that the sub is off.. 😱 It’s like the cherry was missing from the top and that cherry makes such a difference.
Understood..
I am not ruling out a small sub..for now I just want to evaluate and enjoy. I feel or I know the .7’s have the right placement. I have that pseudo center and the soundstage fills my room. I want to experiment with moving them closer to the back wall BUT I do not want to sacrifice SOUNDSTAGE. The trade off is not worth it.
The sub I will be considering is the JL AUDIO 8”
I also want to re-evaluate my HT room.
Since my wife’s passing I have only been down in the room twice. While I do enjoy a good movie (BOOM BOOM) I feel isolated and that is why I moved my 2channel system up to the living room. I listened to lots more music.
I will give it another year but I am considering selling my B&W 803d2’s, surrounds and center.
I would then consider buying a less expensive system..the B&W’s deserve no to be idol.
