Is there still a decent market for the XPA-2 Gen 1 and XPA-3 Gen-1 Spent most of yesterday putting together 2 new Pangea Vulcan audio racks, moving around a bunch of gear. My back this morning reminded me I'm not 35 anymore and those 80lb amps aren't for people that get free coffee at McDonalds and 10% off at Denny's. So, I replaced the XPA-2 with 2 PA-1's I had sitting around in their boxes still, I like the weight of them much better. Downside is to my ears the XPA-2 just sounds better. Not sure what to do.....shipping these babies will be big $$$ and I'd also have to carry them a few more times. So, is there still a worthwhile market for these old school amps??? Scott

Absolutely there is. The XPA-2 is the beef in the power supply. Full Linear Power Supply. Tons of current swing and voltage swing. Not afraid to drive any speaker you throw at it. Dan and Lonnie went nuts on this amplifier. My Brother enjoys the XPA-2 Gen 1 to this day. Was mine, I needed a different solution for what I was doing. Yeah it is heavy. Just like most great amplifiers are. No escaping that with a huge linear power supply and that beefy transformer. The Steel Chassis. I love the XPA-2. They sell strong, and there is a big following for them. Never forget Emotiva was born of great Amplifiers, and the XPA-2 is one of them. Yeah I get the new stuff, but this is the Genesis that allows the later ones to be made. Pure and simple!

Most listed Gen 1 and 2 XPA amps are selling for more than original MSRP on Ebay. You can surely sell them if that is your plan. You know the majority in here won't offer that much, but many of us prefer the first two Generations of the series. I'm sure if you offer them up at a fair deal, people will jump on them.

Tim If I move on unloading these I'd try locally on the dreaded Craigslist first, or post on here and have someone willing to drive here or perhaps meet-up within 100 miles or so from my location. Never had much luck buying on Ebay.....got burned a few times back in the day, better luck on US Audio Mart.

I HOPE for some middle ground between XPA-2 and the PA-1.....
My Parasound? Even the A21 which is 250x2@8. This guy goes 60lb while the A21+ adds about 10........
I have the A23 which is easier to move / and goes <30lb. I have ONE behind each speaker so for my 4ohm panels? That gives me 2x200 EACH.......And 125x2 8ohm watts.....
