I'm curious if there are any professional 3rd-party bench measurements for the BasX A2m "out there." I have no doubt they are very good for this price point and meet/exceed specs. It would be interesting to see detailed measurements anyway. (Same goes for the A2.)
I did come across this unfortunate video. I don't have high confidence in the bench tech here..lol! But it's out there on YouTube.

That is a very professional looking test area haha, I think my toilet is cleaner, regardless I have owned many many Emotiva amps and have ran some of them what I believe to me hard with volume turned up but have never had an issue doing so, for all we know that could have been excess glue burning off, no one really knows but to see comments of Made In China and such and never buying that crap is funny, he probably typed that comment on his electronics or device that is "Made In China" haha

The guy used a calculator to figure out what 400 divided by 4 was. I am not sure he's technically proficient.

Right?! The reviewer defends the "tech" dude—and insults a commenter—by pointing out he had to square voltage first The guy used a calculator to figure out what 400 divided by 4 was. I am not sure he's technically proficient.

Yeah, could be oil on the heat sinks, transistor case coating, thermal paste out-gassing or something like that. Obviously, something got a bit warm. The tech thought he was testing at 8 ohm load when he was in fact at 4 ohm. For all we know, he accidentally started at 2 ohms. In any case, the thermal protection didn't kick in and the reviewer later used the amp and it seemed to work fine for him. Pumping a sine wave at full power into an amp for minutes will heat up everything to its maximum. It's a stress test for sure, so things are going to heat up much more than normal usage.
There's just too much confusion to know what is really happening. I would've scrapped the entire video, waited for the amp to cool down, check all the settings, then start over.
Regarding the math, it's Voltage Squared Divided by Impedance. So in this case, yes, it was pretty simple. (20V x 20V) / 4Ω = 100W.

Probably OK for curiosity but much less meaningful for listening or trying to figure out if it matters.....
