First, apologies if this is posted in the wrong location - when I searched for answers (and I did search!), I saw someone directed to this sub-forum regarding roon.
In short, I have an XMC-1 and am thinking of adding a new Bluesound NODE for streaming. My question is what is the best method, sound quality wise, to connect from the NODE to the processor? The output options are as follows:
Analog Stereo RCA Coaxial RCA TOSLINK digital optical USB Audio 2.0*
Background on how I arrived at the want for this, and where I welcome to be told I'm approaching this all wrong:
I've been streaming Tidal from my Wi-Fi connected laptop via an AudioQuest DragonFly Cobalt USB DAC through an AudioQuest 3.5mm cable to the front-in jack on the processor. It sounded great when I upgraded the 3.5mm cable. But then I eventually started listening to Tidal through a Roku Ultra (Wi-Fi) connected via HDMI to the XMC-1, and it sounds like it's got more oomph, so to speak. The downside is that the detail isn't there like it is through the Dragonfly Cobalt. So I've arrived at the idea that perhaps a dedicated streamer like a Bluesound NODE would provide the oomph and clarity.
As I type this out, I guess I have a two part question. Does it seem like the NODE is a good option, and if so, what NODE output should I use?
I appreciate all feedback. You all have been very patient and helpful with the few questions I've posted over the years.
Best, Richard

Sounds amazing.
