I'm reposting one of my questions in the newbie forum here.
Does anyone have any experience mounting small bookshelf speakers (~10 lbs) on VESA articulating arms attached to wall stud? Good idea? Bad idea? Rattles, resonances, isolation needed, etc? I'm looking at these speakers with VESA 100 mounting pattern. Because of my small room configuration, I'd rather not put mains (for a stereo system) on floor stands or mounted directly against wall (or on bookshelf against the wall). There are these monitor/TV mounts for VESA 75/100 that can swivel +/- 90°, tilt about +/- 15° and extended up to 15". Thoughts?

They have worked fine for a couple years so far. There are lots of other options out there, but these were pretty simple to use. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GUITK24/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They would certainly work. The one I'm using didn't require any drilling or screws so it was simpler for my situation and the rotation and tilt adjustments were plenty. Having the speaker close to the wall has some effect on bass of course, but with Dirac it's no issue ... in fact the bit of boost was a benefit. BTW, I placed them upside down to get the tweeters a little lower .... closer to ear level.

Great! Yeah, the speakers I'm considering already have VESA 100 mount points, and most likely, I would want to move them away from wall baffle 6-12", being L/R mains. I do like the idea of being able to tweak and adjust their position or reorient them as needed, but not if the mounts tend to rattle, vibrate, or move around on there own!

Speakers vibrate. Most articulating mounts are intended for screens - which don't vibrate. The catches are that the balance is different for speakers as well as that they vibrate. So, for example, if the mount can tilt down, it's going to tend to do so over time. And smaller screens don't weigh much... while larger TVs hang down from the mount and so don't have a lot of inclination to want to tip forward. I would at least try to get a mount that is INTENDED for a speaker or studio monitor rather than one that's intended for a TV. I'm reposting one of my questions in the newbie forum here. Those look nice and solid.... The base can be clamped pretty tightly to the sides of the speaker. It's not going anywhere.

Thanks, these look hefty (so is the price) and I like the range of tilt! Wish they had a 4 hole VESA 100mm and extended from the wall a bit farther. I'll look through their products. The search continues. Konig & Meyer - 24471 Konig & Meyer - 24481

Thanks for the feedback, Keith. The potential issues you raise are exactly my concerns with these TV mounts and why I put this out there. I'm still looking for a speaker specific mount that checks all the boxes 1) extends at least 12 inches from wall (adjustable even better), a minimum 15 degree down tilt (a little more even better...like that K&M 0-30 degrees), single wall stud mount, and as it stands now, VESA 100 4 bolt pattern preferred. I guess a ceiling mount is also an option but it's not my first choice.
The first WALI arm I posted has several people in the Amazon review that mention they use them for speakers. One person has Bose 301s mounted to them, another person just said bookshelf speakers and they can aim them where they want, and yet another has a center channel speaker mounted and claims very sturdy. I have no idea how securely the tilt can be fastened given speaker vibration and maybe a little extra torque of a speaker's center of gravity. I also don't want the mount itself to generate any noise, of course. I imagined something like a neoprene pad between the plate and the speaker and some neoprene fender washers for the bolts. It would be really interesting to test one of these and find out if it's really viable as a speaker mount..
Anyway, I'll keep looking around. Thanks again.

The problem is that they do not tilt down very much. With the B1+ having a fairly narrow vertical dispersion, they could not be aimed down enough to give a full sound. Mounting them upside down helps a bit, but does not solve the problem.
