Hi, I have been a long time lurker and I am hoping someone might be able to assist with a problem on my XSP-1 preamp. When playing any source, my XSP-1 keeps switching into HT Bypass Mode. This happens intermitently, but it is quite frustrating, since it cuts off the music and source I am listening to. My Emotiva XSP-1 is connected to an Emotiva XPA-2 power amp and is running as a standard two channel stereo system audio system. I don't need Home Theater at all and I would love to be able to disable this if there is no other way to fix this. Thanks for any input or tips you can provide. These are both Gen 2.

Very curious that. Though not mentioned in the operations manual (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2572/6926/files/XSP-1_User_Manual_v20.pdf?5495441154491181254), I wonder if there is secret input handshake that allows full initialization to the day it was manufactured. Since inputs and other functions maybe microprocessor controlled. Just as in many home theater Receivers and Pre Pros. Not so sure, but for sure worth a shot to contact Emotiva Audio Support to get more assistance.

Unplug for 1/2 hour or more....than try again? Any way to MAKE it fault? Is unit STACKED and perhaps running WARM? UNSTACK if stacked and try again....... Microprocessor control or the dread relay? Micros are prone to getting confused. Or maybe even vulnerable to interference of some kind. Like when the fridge turns on or off.....or someone clicks on a fluorescent light on the same circuit? Or perhaps even proximity to a Plasma TV? Some room for experiment here.....by unplugging a bunch of other stuff and having no fault when you have learned to expect one..... ? And by ALL MEANS? Vac has a good suggestion. The Magic Call. Could be something obvious or just quirky...... PLEASE LET US KNOW the result.....

I would look for potential sources of IR noise that the unit might confuse for a remote control signal. (Anything that can shine infrared light on the front panel... like an LED light bulb, or a plasma TV, or even the remote control for a different unit.) Unplug for 1/2 hour or more....than try again? Any way to MAKE it fault? Is unit STACKED and perhaps running WARM? UNSTACK if stacked and try again....... Microprocessor control or the dread relay? Micros are prone to getting confused. Good suggestion, Keith. Can you cover the IR Sensor with something......to take that OUT of the possibles?
