There is a message saying "updating fonts" every time I restart my XMC-2 after updating to firmware 3.1. This message stays up for, maybe, 1 1/2 minutes, then the processor says "Rethink High End" again and finally starts.
1. The normal EMOTIVA screen comes up first, with the progress bar loading underneath.
2. A message saying Updating Fonts comes up with a progress bar. This runs through the progress bar a couple of times, taking about 1 1/2 minuts.
3. The Rethink High End message comes up.
4. The processor works properly.
Will this Updating Fonts message happen every time I start the processor? Is this a problem?

After fonts loading, unit shut off but does not reboot. I wait 10mins, hit power switch on back, wait 60secs turn switch on. Unit powers on then goes back to loading fonts again and turns off. Can not get out of the cycle ?!?

Can not get out of the cycle ?!? Try just turning it on normally from the remote….don’t use the rear switch. |

When was a revised *new* HDMI board released for the XMC2?
Can those of us with the *older* board get one?

When was a revised *new* HDMI board released for the XMC2? Can those of us with the *older* board get one? The new boards were put into shipping units somewhere around the first of this year. As of right now there is no upgrade path that I know of but I would think there will be. |

For whatever reason, it started to work and now I’m enjoying ARC. |

Did you unplug the TV from the wall and turn off the processor with the rear switch for at least 1 minute? That really works for many. Myself included. |

Multiple times.
Seems like I’ve got bigger issues.
No sound out from any source other than HDMI - DirectTV
No optical from LG or DirecTV

eARC is part of the HDMI 2.1 standard so the HDMI 2.1 upgrade board will support it. This will be a hardware upgrade for all current XMC-2, RMC-1, and RMC-1L units (there may or may not be a version for the XMC-1).
We are also considering a separate upgrade that will enable eARC with HDMI 2.0 . (Some people seem to specifically want eARC but not care about 8k and the other benefits of HDMI 2.1.) |
