Have an RMC-1 feeding an XPA-9 3rd Gen. In the room there is an 5.1.2 speaker array leaving 2 high-powered amp modules that I like to power another set of left and rights for purely stereo/vinyl listening. Does the RMC allow 2 unused channels, say rear height left and right, and reassign them as front left 2 and front right 2, for instance? Or am I stuck with setting the second set on Zone 2 (with their unbalanced connections)? Or am I approaching this wrong and there's a smarter way? Mind, I have an SACD player that's used for surround mixes that I would like to also use the second stereo mains, so I'd like to avoid picking up another pre/pro.
Thanks!

I think you're stuck.
I wanted to do something similar, but couldn't because the outputs are not re-assignable, they can only be used as designated within the confines of choices in the processor menu. The closest we come is with the Front Width channels, but these are only active when the Fronts are active, so, cannot be used separately with the Fronts turned off.

The RMC one has a stereo listening mode no? If so, why not use an AB switch box for your mains and position your second pair where you like using the A.B. switch box and just control them using your existing system just as it is?

Coleman Audio make a switcher that will take XLRs and that certainly might be a way to do it in the future. I guess for now I'll do the Zone 2 dance and see how that goes. Thanks all!
