I get a spam warning when I go there.... That's for the expired certificate. Then, if you push through that, it goes to a: " SORRY! If you are the owner of this website, please contact your hosting provider: webmaster@nadelectronics.com"

Interesting... Our firewall service, which is somewhat picky, flags that link as "suspicious"... As a broad generalization any website with expired or otherwise "flawed" certificates will be flagged as suspicious by many browsers and firewalls... And it could be that there's something hinky about the website... Or just that whoever runs it is a bit lazy or sloppy... (Or, if the website is hosted, it could be the hosting service who is lazy or sloppy.) It's also possible, although unlikely, that traffic directed to that website is being redirected to someplace "interesting". And, yes, as of now, our firewall says that NAD's website ( nadelectronics.com/ ) is OK.

Don't take any of those warnings from anyone too seriously... (And also don't assume that, if they don't flag a site, then it must be safe either.) Each browser and firewall has slightly different metrics and guidelines it uses to decide if a website is "suspicious"... (And, in most cases, they're giving you what amounts to "an educated guess".) I get a spam warning when I go there....

I'm assuming you're correct... especially since getyarn.io seems to be valid. Many firewalls simply consider any sort of site redirect to be "suspicious". We use a commercial firewall service... And they actually offer an option to have them "review the site" if we think that a site has been flagged by mistake... This is a good option because it enables them to be somewhat more careful without seriously inconveniencing us by incorrectly blocking a site. However, most browsers, and most consumer services, don't put that much effort into it, and base their judgment on some sort of heuristic metric alone. (But most browsers do still give you an option to "proceed anyway" - although, with some, you have to dig around to find the option, and a few have eliminated it entirely.) Interesting... Our firewall service, which is somewhat picky, flags that link as "suspicious"... (happens) I eagerly opened the box of my new C 658 and followed the directions that stated I go directly to nadelectronics.com to download the manual...do updates, etc. I see it's working now. While I'm here, the C 658 is nice. My first Dirac (not set up yet)/streamer/adjustable HP filter (I guess SE8 kinda does that)/nice phone app...fancy! It's already making my Topping D90se sound meh. Not having to stream via laptop/USB actually feels great. I thought I did enough research before purchasing, but no, I could barely hear the sub set at full volume. So off to the forums I went. NAD has known about this for a couple years. Some say it's a hardware issue. Something about input impedance? Fortunately my SVS SB3000 has parametric EQ adjustments +/- 6db. Some 20-80Hz tweaking at about +4db made everything better. I read that another NAD owner used a miniDSP for the sub only and achieved good results. I've got a few weeks to make up my mind. I'm leaning towards keeping it, but NAD's negligence or unwillingness to remedy the sub out issue is concerning.

Well the site is back up. Usually the manufacturer has nothing to do with managing their web services. Guarantee you Emotiva is no different. Not all are created equal. Some kind of suck. Some are great. We use Amazon and one other provider. When Amazon services decided to schiit the bed, we were screwed. The fail over wasn't a consideration then. You can bet I made fun of them for that. Dopes. Also consider this that it may have not been the service that let NAD get compromised, but someone internal causing it. Happens allot. I was in financial and one employee knocked out server and took hours to fix lots of unhappy people. Good way to get more Grey hairs. I remembered on our military contracts we would remove hard drives and epoxy the USB connections so no flash drive could be inserted. Give you one guess who did the HDD removal and USB epoxying. 😀

I just needed to learn how to use it. It's frigging awesome. Dirac is totally worth using, especially if you have a bass resonant room. The BluOS app is excellent. It's a tweaker's delight.
