Yes, I have followed that and everything seemed to line up. The only issue is nothing is coming out of the speakers other than L and R. I’m at a loss. Took me a while to get 7.1 working again in REW on the Win install on the Mac mini (BootCamp). Mac is so much easier for me to run REW. All my speakers work in the Windows System, but REW wasn't getting to them, like what you are getting. I don't use the Win installed REW much, just for special things, so it's been months since last use and I didn't remember that any time something is changed in ASIO4ALL I have to click on RELOAD to the right of ASIO Control Panel to get the change refreshed. In your case you've got all of that enabled already. So for me, I had to make sure that Intel Display Audio (XMC-2) was Enabled in ASIO4ALL Control Panel, then click Reload, and all my speaker channels popped into REW. In your case, I think Windows is not setup for all of your channels. Look in "Sound Control Panel", see if your processor is there and if so, go to Properties and then Supported Formats and check how many channels are listed. Mine says "8".

Hi ttocs - Yes, i show 8 as well. Really everything that I expected to see and do via the AusinJerry's REW guide was done. All the channels are available for me to select and test, but nothing comes out of anything other than L and R. I will keep trying to dig and see if i can think of anything else. I appreciate the help.

I appreciate the help. ttocs covered the likely issues. First thing is the Windows audio device has to be set up for 7.1, and then the ASIO4ALL driver has to see the Windows audio device in the control panel in Preferences. In my system this does randomly drop out or become unselectable ...and then I fiddle with it reloading the driver and closing and opening REW and sometimes rebooting.

Yeah, I tried all the likely issues multiple times with no luck including swapping out multiple cables, trying various versions of asio including flex asio. I ran latest REW release and then the latest early access REW release. I tried Java driver and tried it with a modified DLL that and still no luck. Again, my processor shows all channels available but still can’t get anything from speakers other than l and r even through the windows setup test. It may be worth trying to find a cheap laptop at this point as something just isn’t working with the one I’m using. I have posted on avsforum as well and have ran out of suggestions at this point. My laptop is 11 years old, so maybe it is a shortcoming with the laptop's hdmi spec? I dont know. The RMC is certainly only getting 2 channels though from the laptop as it shows PCM 2.0 as the input signal no matter what i do. I even tried changing the HDMI inputs and also setting the hdmi input to v1.4 to see if that did anything, but no luck. www.avsforum.com/threads/simplified-rew-setup-and-use-usb-mic-hdmi-connection-including-measurement-techniques-and-how-to-interpret-graphs.1449924/page-1813#post-62647972

Seems this would not be the issue because you do get 2 channel, but maybe look for that.

I didn’t find any additional hdmi settings. I ended up digging out an even older laptop that is about 15 years old that I used to run REW on and immediately saw the rmc take a 7.1 signal with the old version of REW and asio. anyway, I am guessing maybe the sound card of the other really isn’t processing more than 2 channels for whatever reason. Anyway, at least I have something that should be workable. Thanks

The audio and video cards on many older computers either don't support surround sound at all, or don't support it properly, or require unusual drivers to do so. (In fact, on some old computers, you actually had to run a wire internally from the sound card to the video card to get audio on the video output.) (It's also not a given that, if you do have an older computer that required special drivers, the proper drivers would be available for the current versions of Windows.)
