Can I connect an android phone to the PT-1 via the usb port and play music from the phone to the PT-1? I have an older android that I use for music only and it doesn't recognize the PT-1 via Bluetooth.

The short answer is... probably. Virtually all modern Android phones support being connected to "an external USB DAC" (I don't know of any that do not - but there could be a few)... However, as you go back into the shadows of history, not all of them do, and not all support UAC2 (USB audio class 2), which is what the PT-1 uses. In order to know for sure you would have to dig into the specifications of both the hardware in your phone and the version of Android it is running. (And, even beyond that, the versions of Android used on some phones and tablets may have been further customized by the manufacturer of the device.) It's certainly worth a try... and all that should be required is a USB adapter cable that fits both the phone's USB port and the USB input on the PT-1. Assuming it works the PT-1 should show up as an external audio device somewhere on a menu on the phone. (You shouldn't need any special adapters like you would with an Apple phone or a USB-powered DAC.) Can I connect an android phone to the PT-1 via the usb port and play music from the phone to the PT-1? I have an older android that I use for music only and it doesn't recognize the PT-1 via Bluetooth.

Thanks, I tried it and it works. Sounds better than BlueTooth also.
