XMC-1 with HDMI upgrade board worked flawlessly until about 3 weeks ago. When turning on, the last selected input would show up on my TV. Now, my TV cannot detect a signal from the XMC when I turn it on. I have to change the HDMI input channel and then it will work and show up on the TV. I can then switch back to the previous channel and it will work. Example, I have a Roku on HDMI input 2 and a Firestick on HDMI input 3. After watching Roku, if I turn the XMC on, when I turn it on, the TV says no signal detected. I then select the Firestick channel and it will show up on the TV. I have my Oppo player on HDMI 1 and that no longer works at all. I have to connect the Oppo to the TV and use the Optical out on the TV to the Optical input on the XMC to make it work. Any ideas on what could be the problem and how to fix? I had the UMC-1 and upgraded to the XMC-1 right after it was introduced, and it has worked flawlessly till now. Santa was planning to trade it in and upgrade to the RML but they have suspended that program till 2023.

The upgrade was done at home years ago (Aug 2018), had no issues at all until 4-5 years. It's getting frustrating as wife and mom struggle to turn it on having additional steps to take.

Since you installed it, the first thing I would do is open it up, reseat the board, and all the cables and connections you made during the install. After that reseat all the HDMI cables and try different inputs (maybe 5-8 instead of 1-4). If it still doesn’t work you could also check if newer firmware is available, and carefully update it. You can also contact Emotiva support for help, but as far as I know there aren’t any more 4K boards available at this time.

Did your TV just recently get a new firmware update? Yes, I have an LG OLED 65B6P TV. It auto-installed a firmware update. Would that have had an effect? I went thru the TV settings but could n't find any setting that puts it to sleep. Took it off standby mode thinking it may not be "waking" up the input port on the TV until I change the "source" on the receiver. Happy New Year.

Planning to update to 5.4, then 5.8 as 5.8 release notes indicate that any version less than 5.4 may not recognize the 5.8 update file.

Good plan, but I’d still do the hardware check first, if there’s a loose cable or unseated board, the FW update could fail and leave you bricked.

I updated to 5.8 and am happy to report that everything is working now, the last selected input now is coming on the TV and my Oppo also is working. Was not looking forward to opening up the unit, reseating the board, etc. Thanks all for your suggestions. Next up is re-calibrating with Dirac.
