I have a laptop running Windows 10 that has been dedicated to my XMC-1 Dirac needs for over a year. I was using Dirac successfully a couple days ago, then did a complete shutdown and update of my machine that caused a couple issues.
1) Re-Enabled AGC (Auto Gain Control) on the microphone input. (I disabled - again) 2) Dramatically decreased the output of the "Dirac Warble Test Tones" so I have to increase the MIC Gain sensitivity, and increase the output to get proper results.
This makes me questions the results of the Dirac testing and therefore updated filters. I went back and did a hard reset of my laptop to factory Windows 10 build, and still get the same issues.
Any suggestions or anyone seen similar behavior where the microphone seems far less sensitive and therefore requires a dramatic boost to the output value of the test tones?

Well, I found the issue. The Mic did fail. Keith, bless this man, sent out another (My 4th Set) Mic and Dac/Cable for the XMC1. As soon as I plugged it into my laptop - BAM, all is good. Over the Monday MLK holiday I setup my XMC as a 2-Channel system using my Tube Amps for DIRAC calibration. Setup the Mic/Calibration in my room, moved the Mic on the little provided stand to the (9) different places, and smoothed out my response w/Dirac. I then saved off the settings to a USB stick, and went back and added all my speakers for 7.2 theater. Calibrated the Mic/Dirac settings and went on to calibrate all (9) positions. I had to work on this setup as I was moving around my Subs, so I had to recalibrate the Dirac a couple times. By the 3rd time, I noticed that I hit the mic stand with static when I went to move it, and - BAM, now the setup would not work. Mic no longer hears anything.
Has anyone else had a failing microphone when calibrating due to static electricity? I can not believe I am the only one walking around my carpeted room, moving a Mic around and not creating static electricity.
I am so frustrated. I HATE to ask for another from Emotiva, but this is nuts that the microphone/cable is so darn sensitive. If I get another I now know FOR SURE I have a Static issue, and must discharge prior to touching my Dirac Mic when calibrating.
