What is the big difference between the XMC-2 and the RMC-1L? Should I wait to purchase or go ahead and buy now and due the the trade in when available? I have waited a long time to make this purchase just want to make the right choice. I have look at processors from Anthem, Marantz, Iota and may others the more I look the more confused I get. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I had a few reasons for getting the RMC-1L which may or may not be important to you and not the least of which was that my wife liked the gold thingies on the back of the RMC-1L over the silver ones on the XMC-2. I really prefer the dual displays and if you spend time at the unit itself the single controller is much easier and quicker than the multiple buttons of the XMC-2. And I also like the looks of the RMC-1L over the XMC-2. You'll have to decide if the differences are worth $600 to you or not. As far as waiting or purchasing now Emotiva says the Gen4 will be ready Summer of 2023 but that's subject to all kinds of things and could be later than that. If I wanted a processor now I'd go ahead and get one now.

So if you are on the fence now but you care about absolute sound quality, the RMC1L appears to be the better long term bet. I’m unfortunately stuck with the XMC2….this is where I stand on this. The RMC1L wasn’t available when I bought the XMC2.
