Looks like my trusty Emotiva XDA-2 DAC has finally crapped out. I've been experiencing intermittent distortion on right channel and I finally tracked it down. Wow, for a moment I almost thought my new (to me) Yamaha integrated might be the problem. I'm using a different Emotiva DAC ATM, the Big Ego+ I bought earlier from Emotiva when they were closing the Big Ego out. Got a bad one so they sent me a new + model. Sounds good but has zero switching capabilities. I normally just use it with my laptop and headphones.
So, looking to spend no more than $300, and for $300 it should be an exceptional unit. Let me know what ya got, and how much with shipping to 98823, Ephrata Washington.
Thanks for looking!!!

Allot has changed since the XDA-2.
What must haves are you looking for?
Besides the remote. Most come with those. Most of the CHI-FI like SMSL for instance.

Gotta have a remote. I'm assuming that anything with a remote will have at least 3 inputs, USB, coax, and optical. I only have 2 sources, computer and Oppo. Actually it's surprising how few DAC's have a remote. At least in my search I haven't seen that many, maybe 1 in 8.

A used DC-1 is probably the obvious choice imo if you liked the XDA-2

I haven't used it in quite a while. too many emo products in the house. I need to start divesting myself of those things that are in boxes gathering dust. tchaik..............

I always find it to be rather ironic that a cutting edge high end digital audio system would need an outboard DAC. A high end system will have “high end” DAC within it by default. There was a time decades ago, when outboard, digital analog conversion had some merit to it, but these days it is by in large meaningless redundancy

If YOU can't hear the difference then it is meaningless to YOU.
