Got me a slight dilemma. I bought a G3 amp to replace my G1, wanted something lighter and easier to move around. It’s been over a month now and I just keep hearing what sounds as a “tinny” or high pitch ear bothering music from my system at slightly louder listening levels. I thought at first it’s just me having to get used to the new amp….well I’ve had 2 different friends come over at different times to listen to some music, they both hear the high pitch, tinny sound as I hear. Nothing has changed in my system besides the amp. Does anyone else have any history of a same like experience after going from a G1 to a G3 XPA-2? Hopefully I’m describing the sound enough so someone gets the drift of it. The amp is under warranty, going to give EMO a call tomorrow and see what they think……I’m not getting any fault lights on the front. Sure miss my 83 lb Gen 1…….😳🙁

Is the amp still in the return period ? as it may just be the amp itself or not jiving with the rest of your gear or speakers, I would suggest a pair of Outlaw M2220 mono amps for $699, splits the weight up and easier to move haha. What speakers are you running on the amp. Chad outlawaudio.com/shop/power_amplifiers/45-model-2220.html

The Gen 3 I’ll find out tomorrow, although I’m the second owner, guy had it 2 months, I bought from him, warranty under my name now but I can’t return it.

Well I guess you could always resell if you don't like it, no sense having something that doesn't sound the way you would like it to, maybe some used Gen 1 or Gen 2 XPA-100 or XPA-1L or the Outlaw amps I linked. Cheers, Chad

My guess would be to think the PS was the cause. Switchers operate at a fairly high frequency (relative to audio) and it may just be audible for some reason......
I wouldn't go the outlaw route. Those monos? An attractive and fairly compact idea but also use some odd power supply setup.....G or H 'rails' with some reports
of audible artifacts.
Me? I'd go OUT somewhere and audition some other amps. Several options and I won't mention ANY names, since it would be just what I LIKE, and have nothing to
do with you or your tastes.....
How sensitive are the Revel? I know the Klipsch are really mid/ high 90s......so for THEM at least, 100 HONEST watts will get you evicted......
Can you solder? And follow well-written directions? I'm thinking VTA Kit Amp.....TUBES

Cheers, Chad I would talk to Emotiva first before moving on. If the amp has a real problem, I wouldn't want to sell it to someone else without mentioning the issue. My Gen3 is perfectly fine with my current setup which includes Thiel speakers. No noise. I came from a Gen1 XPA-5. What preamp and source(s) are you using?

Via email chat with Emotiva they aren't certain the amp will show any issues but are willing to "look it over" if I agree to pay the shipping. If anything is wrong, they will fix under warranty. So, the question is, is it worth spending a hundred dollars in shipping to potentially be told it's a "Synergy" problem.......who's looking for a like new XPA-2 G3 amp, LOL.......

If there is noise on his system using the amp, likely a problem with the amp. If the noise is not there, then you've narrowed it down to something with your system.
