I watch Roku a lot. Sometimes I do not get any dailogue playback but I do get the special effects and music tracks. I switch inputs on the xmc=1, turn it off then back on, not sure of the correct procedure but I eventually get the dialogue track to play. Currently I am trying to watch Ready Player One on my OPPO UDP-203 blue ray player and am having the same trouble but not finding a fix with my normal switching of inputs and off/on buttons. I can put the xmc-1 in stereo or all stereo mode and the dialogue mode plays but without the surround effects. My firmware version is 5.8. The audio setup on the OPPO is as follows: Secondary Audio: Off HDMI Format: Auto S/SPIDIF Output: DTS DVD Audio Mode: DVD Audio SACD Priority: Muti-Channel SACD Output: Auto A/V Sync: 0
The audio setup on the xmc-1 is 5.1 Auto
Does anybody have an idea why I am having this problem? Thank you kindly for your consideration.

Should I do a factory reset? Assuming you've already tried disconnecting power from the entire system including display for a few minutes, then yes, a Factory Reset would be the next step to try. And as 405 said above, check the cables.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your help. The hdmi cables are fine and I did turn the power off to the unit with no change. However I figured out the issue last night. I decided to change the hdmi inputs to different ones and see if that might fix my frustrating situation...We all know what a cobweb of cables are behing these electronics. In doing so I discovered the power cable to my center channel speaker, which sits on a small shelf that encompasses my processor, was unplugged! What does a magician exclaim after performing a trick? I'm guessing when I thought I was fixing the issue when I was watching the Roku by pressing a myriad of buttons, I was putting the mode into stereo, therefore the dialogue was coming through the left and right speakers. In surround modes dialogue comes through the center channel. Anyone remember the V8 commercials when they smack their foreheads? Thanks again for your help and consideration.
