I have 4 Emotiva amplifiers (and one Sherbourn) in my system. At one point I had an XMC-1 but I traded that years ago for a Marantz when I got tired of waiting for 4K and Atmos.
I am interested in what looks like rather interesting technology, Dirac ART, but the value proposition with Storm Audio isn't there for me. When looking for high value electronics I still look to Emotiva.
So will Emotiva be integrating ART into any of their HT processors? If so, Will 12K be passé before it is released?
Perhaps something as good or better?

Emo hasnt addressed whether the next generation will get dlbc let alone ART yet . Maybe follow this thread to keep track of things ; emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/60185/xmc-rmc-processors-next-generationNeedless to say if Emo was to get ART to market soon it would be a shock ; Marantz is probably years away

I vaguely recall reading it's exclusive to Storm, at least initially. I doubt anyone who actually knows would share the details of their contract, but to me that sounds like you shouldn't expect it very soon from anyone else.
On a positive note that should allow Storm and Dirac to sort through all the initial challenges, hopefully letting Dirac support other manufacturers more easily in the future.

Dirac have described ART as additional software to Bass Control. Since Emotiva does not yet support Bass Control on the current gen products there is little to no chance of getting ART, maybe on next gen products after a long wait.
Outside of the expensive Storm products the only known contenders for this so far are the new Denon/Marantzs (Although expect a 18month or more wait if it even happens) and other providers which currently offer DLBC (Arcam/Monoprice/JBL/Audiocontrol) of which none have confirmed upcoming support so they dont look likely either although it is unclear if announcements can be made before the Storm exclusivity agreement closes at the end of this year.

Yep ... and Monoprice probably is out of the game too. Unfortunate that Storm won't be at AXPONA. I would have liked to hear a demo and talk to them and maybe even Dirac folks. Probably better that they work out the kinks with Storm before trying to support other platforms. DLBC sure took a long time to settle down. Meanwhile, we do have a list of things we're waiting for Emotiva to fix in the promised 4.x refactor. I would much rather see a stable RMC/XMC platform before diving into any new hardware and software. And still, I am likely to go for an upgrade .... but THIS time, not until it is shipping with Dirac fully up and running! Can't fool me twice

marcl - why would be Monoprice out of the game? A recent YT interview asked Monolith this very question and they replied that they'd like to get it out by late 3Q 2023.

I'm just saying that because Monoprice hasn't shipped an HTP-1 in quite some time ... a year maybe? Then they said December 2022? So maybe they're working on a new processor or something but the web site now says ETA 6/5/23. I would like to see them offering a competitive product at their price point ... we'll see ...
