A serendipitous hifi experience. I went to my local hifi shop to check out a turntable, a Music Hall 1.3; their entry level. I have about 100 albums leftover from my collection, which I have sold over the years. While the sales person went to check on it, I perused the store and they had a used pair of Goldenear Triton 2 for $1800. I had auditioned an Emotiva BasX 300 amp with the PT100 preamp and these were one of speakers I listened to. I haven’t been able to unhear them since. They were way out of my price range. I purchased the Emotivas and bought the T0 from Emotiva as that was my budget. I was very happy with them but I saw this and swooned. But, alas the shop didn’t have the TT, but they had the 1.5. I didn’t want to spent a $100 more. So, he made a deal. He took $200 off the speakers and TT. I bought them both. The Tritons don’t get a lot of attention but they to match up well with the Emotiva kit. I can now really hear them instead of unhearing them.
