Fingers crossed it's as good as the trailer... seems like a great cast. Fingers crossed it's available to stream or purchase the 4k disk shortly after release as my local cinema needs new chairs and prefers excessive volume over quality. "They wont fear it, until they understand it. And they wont understand it, until they use it" Definitely a movie I will either be going to the theaters to see or buy on 4K UHD-bluray. I've always been fascinated by the stories behind atomic theory and quantum mechanics(hence my college minor in physics). Oppenheimer's quote, .........."Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds"....... and the story behind those words sends shivers down my spine because of the depth of their meaning. This field of study(a rabbit hole of sorts) is another one of those that corrupt men don't know when to stop. Jeff Goldblum's character in Jurassic Park, IMO, said it best, "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

It is a very good movie, but a slower drama. The sound effects are insanely dynamic and powerful. The 5.1 mix is masterful.

My father, spouse, and I watched it a week ago. We found it to be very boring. All three of us. Dad gave up on it and went to bed at the 2 hour mark. I gave up just before he did. My spouse finished it and told us we didn't need bother to give it a second chance.

I'll watch it on my own eventually. I know my wife won't be interested.

Glad you guys brought this one up again. Somehow I kept forgetting to put it in my queue, it’s actually unavailable from Netflix at the moment the preview reminds me of a little bit like the right stuff, but for a much more ominous reason obviously.

I feel the trailer is a little misleading. While a great movie, it's a very slow drama and includes court room drama. The acting, visuals, and sound is top notch.

That’s more than enough to give it a watch. Hopefully down the pike, it will be a streaming offering from Netflix…… They’ve been a little slow to accommodate since halting their delivery of physical disks. That being said, the selection has been better of late.

You can also buy/rent the movie on Prime in 4K, but I went back to hard media. Seems it was reversed, but the whole Sony/Paramount fiasco removing PAID content was a huge turn off for trusting movies I bought from Prime. So far so good. I canceled my Prime, but can still watch movies and TV shows I bought.

Should still be good to go.

My Prime ended the 5th and I'm taking a break.

I’d also like to see this movie, and bought Amazon Prime Video under the (mistaken) assumption that this movie was included in my fee. I have enjoyed the television series “Reacher” and “Jack Ryan,” but I’m not sure what else on Amazon Prime is worth watching. Suggestions? Thanks!

So I finally took a minute and did a quick Internet search to find out what the big deal is about this movie and why it seem to be tough to rent and it’s not. Six bucks and you can rent it if that’s your pleasure in multiple places without a problem
Popcorn is nine bucks at the theater, so what are we talking about one day when I’m motivated enough we will rent it 900 million at the box office last summer according to the stats that at least answer some of the questions.

The Boys is a popular one, but it gets too dark and raunchy for me to be good entertainment. Too much shock and awe. Getting tired of that kind of "entertainment". I liked The Man in the High Castle, Mozart in the Jungle. I thought Jean-Claude Van Johnson was a underrated comedy. Just to name a few. Overall, I don't think Prime has enough top tier new content or new GOOD movies to be worth it. Late December they released a new policy that they will now be including limited commercials. You can cancel any time and get a refund. You also don't need to have a Prime membership to be able to watch Freevee movies\TV shows or to buy or rent movies. You just won't have access to Prime included movies and TV shows.

The first 5 seasons (I think it is 5) are on Prime and the last two are on FreeVee so you have to deal with some ads. But at the end of this month all the Prime shows will have ads unless you want to pay an extra monthly ransom. Goliath is another one worth watching.

It is absolutely a dramatic movie about personalities... including Oppenheimer's... against the backdrop of wartime spy paranoia... some of which was actually justified. The technology was also interesting... although perhaps a bit dry... and not incredibly deep. For example (not exactly a spoiler)... Did you know that the two bombs we dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were quite different? (And the reason was that we didn't have enough of either of the active ingredients to make two of either type of bomb... ) I would say that the acting was excellent. (And there was a tiny bit of nudity, which I would say was tasteful, but some folks considered to be unnecessary.) However it was absolutely NOT what I would consider to be an "action movie"... No giant robots... No monsters... No really exciting chase scenes... I feel the trailer is a little misleading. While a great movie, it's a very slow drama and includes court room drama. Agreed, it was nice to watch a movie that has some excellent acting and performances, with some very dynamic sound effects (thanks to my 2 x RS13's!). They definitely didn't go into detail with the science, it was a different spin. I had to double take when I first saw Robert Downey jnr, I couldn't believe it was him! It doesn't always have to be about action, although I really, really liked Dead Reckoning Part 1.

I thoroughly enjoyed Oppenheimer. Story, character development, acting, action, effects; Nothing gratuitous - not even the sound effects.
4K movies are not just for the bombastic surround sound effects.

I bought the 4K UHD Blu Ray, hoping I enjoy this movie.
