I have an XPA-2 Gen2 that works great once turned on but when on standby the power button flickers amber. If I push it to turn it on I hear a series of clicking, if I keep trying a few times it eventually comes on and works just fine. Any ideas? I hate to spend the money for a refurbish and shipping to Emotiva for a power button.

Switches are a high reliability part. Nothing much can go wrong.
Slightly more likely would be a power supply issue. A lot more going on there which can also go 'south'.
clicking? sounds like a relay not 'latching'.....
Willl EMO send you a schematic so you can get it fixed local?

Yep. About the time the power supply filter caps are due. Again amp this age, just recap it all. Buy once cry once. You will be good for at least another 25 years. While they are at it. Check Bias, and DC offset too. Make sure your amplifier has a clean bill of health. Emotiva will not build these again. Fix it up. You will be glad you did.

When werer the last of the XPA-2 sold? Seems a little early for PS caps for an amp in regular service.

These days I'm frightened of shipping anything valuable or potentially fragile.
I have shipping OCD and recently shipped a 7" WWII vintage Naval Compass made by Lionel
to a reseller on the East Coast.
Girl at the shipping office offered me a job since it was clear I was Nuts.....
But I told her she couldn't afford me. She was pretty and I'm sure I couldn't afford HER!
