Yeah it can be a little intimidating cutting large holes in brand new drywall. I’ve done it so many times I don’t even think about it now. I take LOTS of build pics, you can never have too many. Makes it easy when you know exactly what’s behind the wall. Also, when using the brackets, you can limit yourself to what speakers you’ll be using. If you initially want round speakers but later think square or rectangle would look better you can’t go back. Now, the brackets do add some rigidity if that’s a concern but since most studs are roughly 16-20” I think the drywall is plenty strong enough. Unless maybe you’re using heavy speakers like the Focal 300 ICLCR 5‘s. My house won’t be done until around late November/December. They’re at the bullnose, tape and mud stage right now. I’ve been shopping for speakers buying a few each month as I see them on sale. Good part about waiting on a build is you have time to shop for sales and hopefully save some money. 👍

Cool, yeah I’ve been taking advantage of the sales and buying stuff each month. I’ll have enough expenses with other stuff once the house is done so I might as well buy the toys now, lol.

Since you know WHERE you intend to install your system, were you able to PRE WIRE during construction, using an in-wall rated cable?

Since you know WHERE you intend to install your system, were you able to PRE WIRE during construction, using an in-wall rated cable? House is still in the “clear land, begin foundation “ stage. Should be able to have the builder run my choice of wire when it’s time. Looking at in wall Monoprice 12g speaker wire for the Atmos Vaultas and rear surrounds. Will also run Ethernet and RG6 for roof mounted TV antenna and separate roof mounted FM antenna.
