We just signed up for a trial run of Youtube TV and are giving it a full test. Three TV's: (1) a computer monitor, Sony 4K TV, (2) main theater TV, Sony 4K, (3) more casual TV listening, an older LG HD TV. We can have major hiccups on the LG TV on which we were not able to download and install the YouTube TV app and are instead launching what we watch from a cell phone and then casting it to the TV, thus using the phone as the remote control. For the two Sony's, we've installed the app and use each TV remote control to operate the Youtube TV.
We are running ATT 1 Gb fiber so no problem on bandwidth. We are wondering if the installed app's just work better with no interruptions rather what happens when casting. In both cases the A/V stream should all be coming in from the LAN so I'm having a hard time being convinced that the casting is the culprit, unless there is something going on specific to casting that can cause the audio/video stream to glitch badly. What happens is that every so many seconds the audio freezes, then momentarily comes back with the video seemingly speeding up to catch up to the audio. Off and on. Very distracting.
I am reminded also that the LG TV has a chromecast dongle on it, whereas the two Sony's have Chromecast built-in. The LG is the oldest TV of the bunch.

I use YouTubeTV and have been very happy with it. I mostly watch it on my Samsung TV’s but occasionally watch it on my IPAD and IPhone. All work great and I too have AT&T Fiber. Never have any freeze issues. Every once in awhile I’ll get a lip sync issue but those are few and far between. Used to happy more when I first got the service 3 years ago. Not so much these days. I really like the unlimited virtual DVR recording and the audio/video I think is quite good. Also, it’s been very reliable and never down. Prices creeping up a bit but nowhere near what I was paying for DirecTV and Spectrum.

The problem seems to be on live broadcasts when we cast to the LG TV. We need to do more testing, e.g., try casting to the Sony TV's even though we don't have to. This might narrow down whether it's a casting issue or not. And more specifically, the LG TV has an old Chromecast dongle, and the Sony's have built-in chromecast.
