Hello,
My XPA-2 Gen 2, purchased in 2013, no longer powers up – no lights, etc. There were no intermittent problems, it just stopped working one day. I verified that power is getting to the board and that the two power board fuses are not blown. I contacted Emotiva via their website a couple times, first for troubleshooting tips, and more recently for board schematics or at least to tell me if other fuse locations, but no response.
I did not see any other fuses on initial inspection, and nothing obviously wrong (swollen or blown caps, etc.) but have yet done a full disassembly. Can anyone offer any trouble shooting tips for this problem or tell me how many fuses are in the XPA-2, and where they are located located?
Thanks You

I tend to have a faster response that way.

Thanks You I found this from an old post, there are probably many discussing this, and not sure if this is a Gen 1 or 2. “ There are actually 7 fuses in the XPA2. Under the top panel there are (2) 1 amp 250v, and (2) 500ma 250v, under the bottom panel are (2) 10 amp 250v and (1) 250ma 250v; all being 5X20mm in size and slo-blo.”

Thanks. I did see that, but does not appear to match my Gen-2. I'll check again though.

Welcome to Emotiva. Many of us have tried to get copies of the Schematics of their devices and usually that request falls on deaf ears. Also Emotiva doesn't seem to have the time (or parts) to repair their "out of warranty" "legacy" products.
It appears to be something that we have to factor into our purchase cost. If you want the customer support of say McIntosh or even Parasound, you have to pay for it up front in the purchase price.

Yep correct schematics are must. Measurements. Power coming in, than is it rectifying to DC to drive the micro controller. It governs the protect circuit. Do you see any LED indicator on the rear. I don't remember if the XPA-2 has a line fuse in the IEC connector. If no LED power indicator, it could be just that. The 120 LED should light up back here.

Don't do TOO much without a schematic. Voltmeter is lots, but you can't beat a SCOPE. But don't underestimate your NOSE. Burned Electrons stink..... Color counts, too. 'Burned' or 'Cooked' ? A few other visuals.....
