I need to replace my Brystone 3b amplifier, do not need alot of power, ( 60 watts ) but I do want my last set of amplifiers to be crisp and specially be able to get a big soundstage with locked center image! I have done my reasearch and can not find an explanation on the modules on the Differential. Do they make that much of a difference because of differences in price? Do I need to have super expensive speakers to hear the difference?
Please advice!!!

I can't really speak to the sound of the HC-1, but I can say I'm very pleased with my DR-1s driving Magnepans. What speakers do you have?

I have done my reasearch and can not find an explanation on the modules on the Differential. Do they make that much of a difference because of differences in price? Do I need to have super expensive speakers to hear the difference? Please advice!!! Since both are XPA "Gen 3" amplifiers and share the same core components, I don't believe you'll hear any "sonic differences" between them. The biggest difference comes by way of output power and the intended application. The XPA-DR1, as with any of Emotiva's "Differential Reference" components, is a true fully balanced (input to output) amplifier which uses TWO identical amplifier blades, one of which carries an actual "inverted phase" signal to achieve this. As a result of this type of design, there are two fully independent oppositely phased signal paths through the amplifier. In single ended amplifiers, like the HC-1 (as well as their other non-DR models), there is only one. When considering the DR-1, aside from simply gaining more output power, you'd need to have a fully balanced signal chain (all the way from the signal source to the amplifier) to gain the full benefits of such an exotic and expensive design. It's more expensive simply because it requires twice as many identical components in the signal path (one blade for linear phase, one blade for the inverted phase). So, if you don't currently have such a system (one that's fully balanced from end-to-end) and wouldn't need more than the ample 300 watts that a single HC-1 provides, then I believe two XPA HC-1's would be the logical and ideal choice for you. Hope this makes sense and is somewhat helpful... EDIT: Even better, you could get the "coupler kit" (found HERE) to join both HC-1s together and they would occupy the same physical rack space as any other full size XPA amplifier.
