Dead today at 80 years young. One of the greatest badassest linebackers to ever play football. Even though I'm a Lions fan I always liked watching him when we played the Bears.

He was great, loved him when I was growing up. My dad thought he was great, too.

Yep, R.I.P. Mr. Butkus. I was a big fan growing up and watching you play. I too, though, am a Lions fan.

R.I.P. sir! I met this smart humble humorist man at an awards function at college and he was such a wonderful mentor. That was a very long time ago but he left an impression on everyone he met, on and off the field.

R.I.P. I thought all the Lions fans were long gone. You would have seen a helluva lot of them in Green Bay if you watched a couple Thursdays ago. They almost took over Lambeau Field.

R. I. P. I remember hearing a story that one of the years the Bears were in a playoff game. A day before the game Dick Butkus showed up at opposing teams hotel and knocked on the other teams Q.B. room door and handed him a popped football, the story goes on saying the Q.B. had his worst game ever. Getting old is a *bleep* because I can't remember the team or the Q.B. that this happened to.

Oh my it has been rough year. RIP Dick Butkus. You made the plays. Heaven loves greats like you. Thanks for the games you were in. I was a big fan.
