This seems like a great way to burn cash. I’m not sure anybody really asked for this. Though I’ve been wrong before. I’m not necessarily plugged into what’s cool anymore.

Renting (or buying) UHD/Atmos/DTS:X discs would be really welcome (if convenient), though given their recent move that doesn’t seem likely. I’d hoped Redbox might expand faster in that arena, but that hasn’t happened.

…..they are free of course to do whatever they please, but in our home, we are on a mission to show them the door and that will be done by the middle of this month. In the meantime, we’ve updated everything around here to optimize alternate services and continue to purchase physical disks to add to our collection. Too bad…….we started out with them 23 years ago and rented thousands of discs… We added the streaming service in the last eight years or so as a fill-in. I hate their overcontrol of the app. I hate that the settings are worthless; that one film runs into the other no matter what we do to stop it . it’s OK that’s what competition is all about and we’ll be better for it in the long run.   |
